Using the Predictive Method of Adaptive 4x4/8x8 Transformations to Reduce the Computation in Motion Estimation

چکیده
In order to improve coding compression and display quality in bitstream playback, an H.264, with an “adaptive transform with variable block” (ATVB), is able to achieve this. However, these added compression and display benefits are offset by the demand for double the computation power requirements. In addition to this computing power increase an extra round of Motion Estimation (ME), when using 4x4 or 8x8 a transform module is also required. Therefore, this paper proposes a savvy hypothesis to reduce the computation requirements between 30%-45% using ATVB with 0.25db display distortion and 2.5% bitrate increment.

Robust Trajectory Free Model Predictive Control of Biped Robots with Adaptive Gait Length
This paper employs nonlinear disturbance observer (NDO) for robust trajectory-free Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) of biped robots. The NDO is used to reject the additive disturbances caused by parameter uncertainties, unmodeled dynamics, joints friction, and external slow-varying forces acting on the biped robots. In contrary to the slow-varying disturbances, handling sudden pushing ...
متن کاملFast variable-size block motion estimation using merging procedure with an adaptive threshold
A merging procedure for variable-size block motion estimation is proposed to reduce the computation for block-size decision. A smaller block-size is initially used for motion estimation. An adaptive threshold, which depends on the information obtained from the motion estimation, quantization parameter, and rate distortion cost function is used to determine if the motion vectors of the neighbori...
متن کاملPower Efficient Sum of Absolute Difference Algorithms for video Compression
Abstract : Video Compression (VC) is one of the resource hungry key element in video communication and is commonly achieved using Motion Estimation (ME). In this paper we proposed power efficient one bit full adder and one of the simple and easy metric called Sum of Absolute Difference (SAD) for estimating the motion vectors in motion estimation. SAD is primarily used to detect motion in the vi...
متن کاملNew adaptive interpolation schemes for efficient meshbased motion estimation
Motion estimation and compensation is an essential part of existing video coding systems. The mesh-based motion estimation (MME) produces smoother motion field, better subjective quality (free from blocking artifacts), and higher peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) in many cases, especially at low bitrate video communications, compared to the conventional block matching algorithm (BMA). Howev...
متن کاملAdaptive search area for fast motion estimation
In this paper a new method for determining the search area for motion estimation algorithm based on block matching is suggested. In the proposed method the search area is adaptively found for each block of a frame. This search area is similar to that of the full search (FS) algorithm but smaller for most blocks of a frame. Therefore, the proposed algorithm is analogous to FS in terms of reg...
